Nets rookies Egor Demin, Drake Powell to be limited entering training camp
"I'm not a doctor, so it's hard for me to even tell what's going on with it," Demin said. "So, for me, it's just important to stay present and I'm trying to focus on whatever plan I have from the physicians, right, and whatever timing I have from them."
"My knee has been doing good," Powell said. "I've been sticking with the program that my strength and conditioning staff has given me and just continuing to build each day, come in with the right mindset and just stay level-headed and continue to grow from that."
Egor Demin and Drake Powell will be eased into Brooklyn Nets training camp after injuries. Demin suffered a plantar fascia tear after Summer League and has been following a physicians' plan while calling the setback workload-related rather than severe. Powell missed Summer League with left knee tendinopathy and has not been cleared for full 5-on-5 action, though the team hopes he can participate in preseason. General manager Sean Marks indicated both rookies will be limited early. Demin averaged 11.3 points and shot 43.5% from three in Las Vegas and has bulked from 199 to 210 pounds to prepare for NBA physicality.
