Nets Notebook: Cam Thomas out 3-4 weeks with hamstring strain
"I don't expect to be out for long, but we'll see how it goes," Thomas said."
"No one wants to be injured and standing off to the side, but I'm not really worried about it," Thomas said. "I'll be back in no time. I'm not really upset or concerned, it's just unfortunate."
"We don't have another Cam Thomas," Fernández said. "The constant has to be we have to play hard with purpose. We have to look like a competitive team out there, a selfless team and a connected team. If that happens, we'll be OK."
Cam Thomas has a left hamstring strain and will be sidelined for at least three to four weeks after exiting a recent game. Thomas missed 57 games in 2024-25 largely because of lingering left hamstring issues. He signed a one-year, $6 million qualifying offer this offseason after declining a long-term extension, betting on health and performance to earn a larger deal in 2026. The 24-year-old is averaging 21.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists in eight appearances while shooting 40.2% overall, 35.6% from three and 87.5% from the free-throw line. The Nets must redistribute scoring and maintain competitiveness during his absence.
