Anthony Davis returned to play against the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time since the February 2 trade that sent Luka Doncic to Los Angeles and moved Davis to Dallas. Davis was back after a left calf strain and had not played since October 29. He played 28 minutes, shot 6-for-10 and finished with 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and three blocks, with no free-throw attempts. The Mavericks fell 129-119. Doncic recorded 35 points and 11 assists for the Lakers. Austin Reaves scored 38 on 15 shots and exchanged jerseys with Davis, praising his impact and mentorship.
