Luka Doncic scored 49 points in the Lakers' 128-110 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, finishing 14-for-23 from the floor, 5-for-12 from 3 and 16-for-19 from the free-throw line. He added 11 rebounds and eight assists. The Lakers shot 59.2% overall and 41.4% from three, with 12 turnovers, improving from a season-opening loss when they shot 54.5%, 25% from three and had 19 turnovers. Austin Reaves had 25 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. Rui Hachimura scored 23 on 10-for-13 shooting and Deandre Ayton had 15 points and eight rebounds. Doncic became the first Laker with consecutive 40-point season starts and the fourth player in NBA history to do so.
