Liberty's Stewart to put knee to test in Game 2
"They told me that structurally, everything looks OK,"
"So my plan is to go."
"I'm very happy to have gotten my MRI results back and know that it's something I can play through."
"That's one of our engines behind the team. So it's a huge relief for us."
Breanna Stewart plans to play Wednesday in Game 2 of the Liberty's first-round WNBA playoff series after injuring her left knee during overtime of Game 1. MRI results indicated that structurally everything looks OK and cleared her to play. Stewart crumpled to the floor and grabbed her left knee, exiting with 2:07 remaining. She scored 18 points with six rebounds and four assists in Game 1, a 76-69 overtime win. A win Wednesday would advance the fifth-seeded Liberty to the semifinals; a loss would send the series back to Phoenix. Stewart leads the team in scoring, blocks and steals and is second in rebounds.
