"I got an opportunity to experience probably one of the greatest basketball moments of my personal career,"
"I thought they didn't think I was really going to do it, but I was planning on it there and got a good moment to do it,"
"I called a play for him right out of the timeout and he probably wasn't quite ready for that one,"
Kyle Lowry checked in for the final 1:57 of Philadelphia's 115-102 win in Toronto and received a rousing standing ovation. The appearance could be his final game in the city where he spent nine seasons and won the 2019 NBA championship. The cameo marked Lowry's first appearance since Dec. 23, and he left the arena with the game ball. Toronto fans chanted "We want Lowry!" before coach Nick Nurse called Lowry in to replace Tyrese Maxey. Lowry missed all three of his long-range attempts, including an airballed 3-pointer on his first shot. Lowry arrived wearing an Auston Matthews Maple Leafs jersey and plans to sign a one-day contract to retire as a Raptor remain unchanged.
