GAME PREVIEW: Heat take on rival Celtics in second night of a back-to-back
"For the second night of a back-to-back, and the second of three road games in a four-day span, Miami heads to TD Garden to face the rival Boston Celtics. The Celtics started out the season slow, as their superstar in Jayson Tatum is still recovering from a torn achilles from the 2025 postseason. They are coming off two straight losses, including their most recent to the top seed Detroit Pistons. However, they have turned things around as of late. Boston is 7-3 over their last 10 games and have risen to the current fourth seed in the wide open Eastern Conference."
"At now a 15-12 record, the Heat are just .5 games behind the 15-11 Celtics. This game doesn't just have impact on the standings, but it would be a great step forward for the Heat to build on after their recent losing skid. Miami would jump Boston entirely in the standings and potentially get back to top-four in the East with a win. Miami's injury report has not been released yet, but Tyler Herro is expected to still be sidelined with his toe injury. Look for coach Erik Spoelstra to stick the Bam Adebayo-Kel'el Ware double big starting lineup after the win in Brooklyn- where Ware shined as a starter again with a dominant 22 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks double-double."
The Miami Heat snapped a five-game losing streak with a bounce-back win in Brooklyn and immediately travel to face the Boston Celtics on the second night of a back-to-back. The Celtics have played better recently, going 7-3 over their last 10 games and occupying the fourth seed while Jayson Tatum remains out recovering from a torn Achilles. Miami sits at 15-12, just half a game behind Boston, and a victory would leapfrog Miami in the standings and potentially return the team to the top four in the East. Tyler Herro is expected to remain sidelined, and Erik Spoelstra is likely to start the Bam Adebayo–Kel'el Ware double-big lineup after Ware’s 22-point, 12-rebound, four-block performance. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
