Mookie Betts will coach in the NBA Celebrity All-Star Game on Feb. 13 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with the game airing on ESPN. Rapper GloRilla and DJ Mustard will also feature in the event. Betts is a multi-sport athlete who played high school basketball and nearly pursued basketball before focusing on baseball. He has maintained basketball skills by training with NBA players and competing in pickup sessions, including playing with Chris Paul and Brandon Miller. Betts continues to play basketball and bowls at a high level, and former teammate Kenley Jansen said Betts could play in the NBA or NFL if he chose. Betts described averaging about 14 points per game, nearly a double-double, and emphasized controlling the offense and doing the dirty work to help teammates win.
