Jusuf Nurkic, the center for the Phoenix Suns, has voiced his dissatisfaction with head coach Mike Budenholzer, stating that they haven't communicated in two months and that they do not have a relationship. After being benched, Nurkic hasn't played since January 7 and missed time due to illness. Nurkic is striving to maintain professionalism amid this tumultuous period. Budenholzer has rotated other centers in his absence, suggesting there is ongoing competition for playing time.
"We don't have a relationship," Nurkic said of Budenholzer, according to the Arizona Republic. "So, it's fine. For me, just be a pro and do the best I can."
"It's hard to understand why," Nurkic said about Budenholzer moving him to the bench. "As you know, I try to do whatever they want from me."
Budenholzer said of Nurkic's situation, "It's never easy in this league. He hasn't played. I'm sure he's frustrated."
