The Oklahoma City Thunder celebrated becoming the second-youngest championship team in NBA history with a modest, humorous locker-room champagne moment. Veteran Alex Caruso, 31 and the oldest player on the roster, led the celebration and instructed inexperienced teammates, including Jalen Williams and Jaylin Williams, on how to open champagne. Several corks popped prematurely and the team needed multiple attempts before popping corks in sync, producing a tame title celebration. Caruso displayed his championship ring earlier in the season as motivation. After the celebration Caruso said the team would rest, reset and try to repeat the achievement next year. A few months later, general manager Sam Presti held his annual preseason media meeting at the Paycom Center.
