The NYC Department of Transportation has opened three new sustainable delivery microhubs on the Upper West Side, coinciding with Earth Day. Located strategically at Amsterdam Avenue and West 85th, 73rd, and Broadway at 77th Street, these hubs facilitate truck drivers in transferring goods to smaller, eco-friendly transport methods, including electric bikes and vans. A pilot program for up to 36 microhubs aims to address the surge in online orders, ensuring efficiency in deliveries while minimizing environmental impact. Major companies like Net Zero Logistics, Amazon, and UPS will utilize these locations, aiming for a greener logistics future.
