On April 16, NYCEDC welcomed three new companies under its Pilots at Brooklyn Army Terminal program, enhancing the push for clean energy in Brooklyn. New participants include Pliant Energy Systems, Armstrong World Industries, and LG CNS. They will collaborate with Matcha, which already introduced electric vehicle chargers at the site. The expansion is a result of piloting successes and aims to encourage technological advancements in energy efficiency and EV infrastructure. Leaders, including NYCEDC Chair Andrew Kimball, highlighted the crucial role of these initiatives for sustainable tech development in NYC.
Goldman said, 'Their partnerships will further solidify the Terminal's role as a leading center for green and efficient tech development in New York City.'
Pliant Energy's underwater robot will demonstrate its ability to conduct underwater surveys and marine infrastructure inspections in the waters adjacent to the MADE campus.
Armstrong's Energy Saving Ceiling panels installed at the BAT operations office will utilize phase change material (PCM) to improve indoor thermal comfort and enhance energy efficiency.
LG CNS is pairing cutting-edge EV charging equipment with new software and operations services from Matcha, a former BAT pilot company, to enhance drivers' digital experience.
