Jey Perie, originally from France, opened La Noxe, a hidden bar located strategically between the street and subway. With its intimate 600-square-foot space reminiscent of a speakeasy, Perie sought to capture the essence of New York's late '70s and early '80s. After negotiating a lease rate and preparing for an opening in March 2020, his plans were derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Following several setbacks during the uncertain times of reopening, he faced challenges but remained determined to create a unique experience for patrons.
The bar's experience is deliberately hidden away, much like a speakeasy, as Jey Perie envisioned creating a unique, intimate space reminiscent of late '70s New York.
