World, co-founded by Sam Altman and Trevor Traina, has launched a storefront in San Francisco offering high-tech iris scans to create a World ID. This innovation aims to combat AI bots and verify human identity online. The shift towards anonymity and identity verification has become increasingly urgent as bots infiltrate various platforms. World also hints at integrating a cryptocurrency angle into its services, perhaps adopting features reminiscent of past social media verification strategies. Their approach represents a significant step in addressing emerging challenges in digital identity.
