How the Jeff Bezos wedding plans to highlight Venice's artisanal heritage
Briefly

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are planning a three-day wedding celebration in Venice, inviting celebrity friends and emphasizing local traditions by sourcing 80% of their provisions from Venetian vendors. Historic companies like Rosa Salva, known for its artisanal pastries, and Laguna B for Murano glass art will contribute to the event. Amid some local protests regarding the wedding, the couple aims to honor Venice's rich cultural heritage while providing quality tourism, showcasing cherished Venetian culinary traditions.
"We try to maintain the old recipes," said Rosa Salva, whose family business includes a catering service and four locations in Venice's historic center and one on the mainland. "We do everything with love. It's a pleasure and a privilege."
Antonio Rosa Salva, the 6th generation in his family to run the business, said the wedding order of a selection of surprises for goody bags was important recognition of his family's long tradition of baking Venetian specialties dating back nearly 150 years.
