Sayee Chaitanya Reddy Devagiri pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud DoorDash, manipulating its systems to falsely report and collect payments for non-existent deliveries. Along with three others from 2020 to 2021, they accessed customer accounts to initiate fraudulent orders and used employee credentials to exploit DoorDash's software. Devagiri, who admitted to these actions, has become the third individual convicted in this case, facing a potential 20-year prison sentence and a fine of $250,000, with a court date set for September 2025.
Devagiri, 30, of Newport Beach, California, admitted to working with three others in 2020 and 2021 to defraud the San Francisco-based delivery company.
He then caused the fraudulent driver accounts to report that the orders had been delivered when they had not, manipulating DoorDash's systems.
Devagiri faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for his actions.
Devagiri is the third defendant to be convicted of his role in this conspiracy, following two co-defendants.
