Archer Aviation wants to help New Yorkers skip airport traffic with electric air taxis | TechCrunch
Briefly

Archer Aviation, an electric aircraft startup, plans to introduce air taxis to New York City to significantly reduce airport travel times to just 5 to 15 minutes. In collaboration with United Airlines, the proposed network will connect essential hubs, including major airports and heliports. CEO Adam Goldstein highlighted nine core nodes for the service. However, Archer still needs FAA approval for its eVTOL aircraft, Midnight, and has yet to conduct manned test flights. Goldstein anticipates achieving necessary certifications by 2026, with updates on piloting in upcoming earnings calls.

"So you have the three big international airports - JFK, La Guardia, Newark - and the three big heliports, including the Downtown Skyport..." Goldstein elaborated.
