Antioch receives national grant for jobs program
Briefly

Antioch has been selected for a $20,000 grant from the National League of Cities to implement a pilot program aimed at boosting job creation for low-income residents. The program, called the 'Work Together Fund,' will foster collaboration between nonprofits and small businesses. Participants will receive technical assistance and support from the Antioch Business Collaborative, which will facilitate access to training, capital, and networking opportunities. The initiative is also part of a broader effort, backed by the Gates Foundation, to enhance economic mobility in the city.
"Applicants can use the collaborative to develop frameworks, partnership agreements between organizations, and help writing the proposal," said Sweet in an email.
"The collaboratives that are funded are also encouraged to use the technical assistance to enhance their organization through training, advising, coaching, networking, incubation, capital readiness, low-interest small business loans, ecosystem development, and formal business alliances."
"The six-month program, which also offers expert guidance, is backed by the Gates Foundation and aims to 'expand, test, and implement economic mobility.'"
"Antioch will launch the 'Work Together Fund,' an initiative to nurture collaborative problem-solving toward job creation among nonprofits and small businesses, said city officials.
