A new anti-swiping dating app wants to be like Pokemon Go for finding love
Briefly

Left Field, a novel dating app launched in New York City, aims to combat the swipe fatigue and frustrations many users face on traditional platforms. Founded by Samantha Martin and Kate Sieler, it leverages geolocation to facilitate real-life meetups through push notifications when users are nearby. Unlike conventional apps that rely on swiping, it seeks to foster organic interactions. After a successful family and friends funding round, Left Field is designed as a more passive dating experience and plans to expand to college campuses in May 2025.
We like to call ourselves the Pokémon Go of dating. Our location-based features aim to bring back the magic of real-life encounters.
Endless swiping, lack of organic interactions, and a barrage of paywalls are just some of the dating pains that inspired us to create Left Field.
