The Tropicana, originally opened in 1957, will be imploded on Oct. 9, marking the end of an era for one of Las Vegas's historical casinos.
The demolition will be celebrated with a unique drone and fireworks show, organized by Bally's Corporation, the current owner of the Tropicana Las Vegas.
After the Tropicana's demolition, the site will be transformed into a new MLB baseball stadium for the A's, further advancing the Las Vegas sports district.
With the closure of the Tropicana, developers aim to modernize older properties, as evidenced by the upcoming renovation of the Mirage into a Hard Rock hotel and casino.
