The 13-story Water's Edge apartment building in Revere has been deemed unlivable, forcing over 40 families out due to persistent health and safety issues.
City officials stated that the apartments are plagued with problems for years, including mold and a malfunctioning fire safety system, threatening tenant safety.
Attorneys for Water's Edge disputed the city's claims of mold and rats, arguing that proper procedures were not followed in the condemnation process.
'You deserve safe and livable conditions... because you are the victim of this neglect,' said Board of Health member Viviana Catano, addressing the displaced tenants.
