George Rickey sculpture partially collapses in Midtown Manhattan

On Wednesday evening, a large metal hoop from George Rickey's kinetic sculpture, Annular Eclipse Sixteen Feet I, collapsed outside News Corp's Manhattan headquarters, causing no injuries.
The sculpture, part of a collection installed in December 2017, experienced a failure attributed to a rusted articulated joint connecting the hoop to its base, according to a building worker.
