The MTA is actively pumping water out and two-way traffic has resumed at the north tube. The south tube is still being assessed. Please exercise caution if you're in the area and plan alternate travel routes.
According to reports, drilling on the ground level on the Manhattan side caused a breach and led saltwater to pour into the structure. Other reports suggest that it was not a water main break, but another water-related incident.
