Exclusive | Beloved NYC 9/11 mural desecrated by pigeon poop despite roughly $400K of taxpayer money spent on failed deterrents

Despite spending roughly $400,000 in taxpayer money, the 9/11 mural beneath a Queens overpass is still desecrated by pigeon droppings, frustrating local leaders.

Phyllis Inserillo, co-president of the Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic Association, expressed outrage: 'I think it's despicable... we have state [officials] who don't seem to care.'

Local activist Eddie Earl lamented the ongoing issue, saying, 'You can power wash in the morning and by the afternoon the poop is back,' highlighting a continuous struggle.
