A New York Summer Wedding Has New Appeal
Briefly

George and Jaclyn Embiricos initially planned an outdoor wedding reception at his family home in Southampton, N.Y. However, upon realizing the costs and complications of logistics, including tent rentals and audiovisual installations, they opted for a more convenient option at the Central Park Zoo. This turn allowed them to host a 150-person ceremony, which not only provided better value and ease of planning but also favored their guests' convenience. The shift highlights a trend where couples are re-evaluating venue challenges, especially amid a summer slowdown for weddings in the city, exacerbated by the pandemic.
Mr. Embiricos said, "We wanted to celebrate close to the city but not in the city and were set on a gorgeous outdoor area with lots of space."
He added, "It turned out that getting married in the city was super convenient for our guests and us, and it was a lot less stressful for us to plan."
