St. George is in a rapidly growing part of the state, with golf courses, hiking trails and a well-preserved stock of early 20th-century houses, about two hours from Las Vegas.
From the sidewalk, a paved path leads to a covered porch big enough to hold several chairs. The front door opens into a living room with hardwood floors, a fireplace with a raised hearth, hand-plastered walls and large windows.
