800-year-old moated manor site in Chislehurst to offer tours this weekend

Scadbury Manor, established in 1200, will open to the public for tours as part of Heritage Open Days, showcasing its rich historical significance and archaeological research.
The site features archaeological excavations revealing foundations of Tudor kitchens and great hall from when the manor was owned by the Walsingham family.

Scadbury Manor, under the care of Bromley Council and the Orpington and District Archaeological Society, was recognized as an Ancient Monument and underwent significant repairs.
