"Families are getting nickel-and-dimed at every turn, and Trump and his MAGA agenda continue to hurt our pocketbooks. While childcare and education costs skyrocket, the failure of leadership in DC has meant New York families are being forced to pay more while receiving less. In Albany, lowering the cost of living for working families was my top priority. In my four years in the State Assembly, I passed laws banning hidden healthcare fees, making it easy to cancel unwanted subscriptions, and broadening health care coverage for the poorest New Yorkers."
"Ensuring more residential housing is introduced into the market increasing supply to meet the growing demand. We must find a balance between building and protecting our existing communities and the environment surrounding them. Working with state and local partners, I will seek initiatives such as the City of Yes for Housing Opportunity, the Expedited Land Use Review Feature. In Congress I will fight to bring federal funding back to fund NYCHA to help clear the backlog of needed repairs."
Candidates focus on affordability and reducing financial burdens on residents. One candidate emphasizes state and future congressional actions to cut hidden healthcare fees, allow easier cancellation of unwanted subscriptions, broaden coverage for the poorest residents, and make housing, healthcare, and necessities cheaper. Another candidate centers on increasing residential housing supply to meet demand while balancing community and environmental protection. They cite initiatives aimed at speeding housing approvals and expanding housing opportunity. They also call for restoring federal funding to support NYCHA repairs and reversing Trump-era cuts. Overall plans connect cost relief to both healthcare reform and housing development.
