The Trump administration has set a critical deadline for New York's congestion pricing plan, with significant legal updates occurring just before April 20. A federal judge dismissed several lawsuits aimed at stopping the congestion pricing, reaffirming its implementation. In tandem, Mayor Eric Adams' administration has joined efforts with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to counteract the Trump administration's request to deactivate toll cameras. Despite confusion over a potential agreement, Governor Kathy Hochul remains committed to the congestion pricing initiative designed to alleviate traffic congestion in Manhattan and support public transit funding.
In a nearly 100-page decision, Judge Lewis Liman stuck down several claims trying to stop the toll program that has now been in place for three months.
Earlier this month, several outlets reported the MTA and the Trump administration reached an agreement that congestion pricing can remain in effect through the fall.
