Jack Ciattarelli, a Republican candidate for New Jersey's governorship, has declared his intent to implement a congestion pricing fee on New York vehicles entering New Jersey if he wins. He argues that New Jersey should not be subjected to New York's congestion tolling and plans to use the revenues to improve NJ Transit. Ciattarelli also plans to align with Trump's policy agenda, including immigration reform and changes to labor laws concerning public transport.
"We're not going to be pushed around by New York," Ciattarelli told The Post, emphasizing his commitment to counter Pennsylvania's congestion pricing with a similar fee system for New York drivers.
"If this is what they are going to do to New Jerseyans, this is going to be what we will do to New Yorkers," Ciattarelli stated, suggesting a tit-for-tat approach to congestion pricing.
