The reality is that we have a housing crisis, but the South Bronx cannot bear the burden of affordable housing on its own. We need all 51 council districts to do their fair share.
70% of residents in the top 10 districts producing affordable housing are Black or Latinx, compared to 30% in the lowest producing districts.
Communities of color in neighborhoods with lower land costs produce most affordable housing, while low-density areas produce little to none.
