In November 2022, our administration announced a historic once-in-a-generation transformation of the Willets Points neighborhood in Queens. This neighborhood, once known for junkyards, is now becoming a vibrant area with 2,500 new all-affordable homes, a new school, public spaces, retail, a hotel, and a soccer-specific stadium for New York City Football Club.
Building affordable housing in all neighborhoods across NYC is vital for a livable city. The Willets Point project aims to provide a safe living environment close to schools, jobs, outdoor spaces, and public transport.
