Leonid Shatkin, a 42-year-old off-duty NYPD detective, faces DWI charges after crashing his truck into two parked cars in Grant City around 2:55 a.m. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. Shatkin, who claimed a glare caused the crash, exhibited signs of intoxication with slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, and refused a breathalyzer test. Following this incident, he has been suspended without pay pending further investigation, with his court date set for July 7.
