Leonid Shatkin, a 42-year-old off-duty NYPD detective, faces DWI charges after crashing his truck into two parked cars in Grant City around 2:55 a.m. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. Shatkin, who claimed a glare caused the crash, exhibited signs of intoxication with slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, and refused a breathalyzer test. Shatkin allegedly told a 122nd Precinct officer: 'There was a glare in my eye, causing me to crash. The air bag hit me and hurt my head and shoulder.'
