New York City Comptroller Brad Lander announced Tuesday he is running for mayor in the 2025 race. Lander emphasized delivering a safer, more affordable, more livable, and better-run city for all New Yorkers through a social media post video.
Before becoming comptroller, Lander served on the New York City Council. He joins state Sen. Zellnor Myrie and Scott Stringer as 2025 mayoral candidates challenging Mayor Eric Adams.
