A recent Siena College poll revealed that 57% of New Yorkers prefer to elect someone other than Kathy Hochul as governor in 2026, despite increased approval ratings.
Pollster Steven Greenberg noted, 'While most Republicans want Hochul out of office, there is a healthy number of Democrats who do not want to give her another term.'
The survey indicates only one-third of voters are prepared to re-elect Hochul, with dissatisfaction echoing among 40% of Democrats and 85% of Republicans.
With primary challenges looming, including from US Rep. Ritchie Torres, Hochul faces an uphill battle to maintain her position in the upcoming election.
