Mayor Adams' forms new Charter Revision panel focused on housing crisis; City Council nervous of potential power grab | amNewYork
Briefly

For millions of low-income New Yorkers, housing costs are the central struggle of their lives. Our housing crisis severely limits where New Yorkers can live and what schools they can attend.
The new Charter Revision Commission will review the New York City Charter with an eye toward addressing the city's housing crisis, which has left a low rental vacancy rate.
Sharon Greenberger will serve as vice chair of the new CRC. She has worked to reimagine programs and services to address community needs, particularly for youth.
Our task is to examine the charter to see how we can better meet this generational challenge around housing affordability.
