Taveon Hargrove, 23, was extradited to NYC following a brutal attack on off-duty NYPD officer Chowdhury Nafees on May 24. Alongside an accomplice, Hargrove robbed and severely assaulted Nafees, even stomping his face. This incident highlights growing violence against police, with the Police Benevolent Association calling attention to the brutality of the attack. Officer Nafees is now suffering from ongoing sight issues due to the injuries inflicted by Hargrove. Following the attack, both suspects fled to Virginia, where Hargrove faced extradition challenges before returning to NYC to stand trial for attempted murder.
'He did that extra kick. He went New York City Police Officer, I'm gonna kick him and make sure he stays down,' PBA President Patrick Hendry said.
'Officer Nafees continues to suffer from sight issues. He's still having a lot of issues seeing blurred vision, in a lot of pain,' said PBA's Patrick Hendry.
