Malliotakis discusses plans for senior tax relief at Bay Ridge Center
Briefly

On May 12, U.S. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis visited the Bay Ridge Center for Older Adults to promote a new legislative initiative focused on tax relief for seniors. The proposed bill aims to raise the deduction for seniors to $4,000 or $8,000 for married couples, along with a significant increase to the SALT (state and local tax) deduction cap. Malliotakis emphasized that nearly 98% of her district would benefit from these changes, aiming to support hard-working taxpayers while protecting essential social programs like Medicare and Social Security.
We are doing what we can with the savings that we are finding to give it back to you, the taxpayers. The people that work hard your whole lives. You pay taxes. You deserve to be able to keep your money.
My legislation to increase the deduction to seniors to $4,000, or $8,000 if you're married, I think is going to pass. We are going to get it done.
