Judges to Diddy accusers: Reveal yourselves or your lawsuits will be tossed

Sean "Diddy" Combs is challenging his sexual assault accusers to unmask their identities in civil suits, else their cases could be dismissed. With a criminal trial approaching, Combs' lawyers have succeeded in making accusers reveal their names, which has created a dilemma for over 55 plaintiffs who have filed against him. Many allege serious crimes but have sought anonymity using pseudonyms. Now, as a result of court rulings, some are faced with the prospect of being publicly connected to their traumatic experiences or abandoning their legal pursuits.
"The defendants who oppose the 'Jane Doe' status - I think are doing it primarily as a means to intimidate the victim," said Douglas Wigdor, an attorney.
"Combs' court victories are forcing accusers to decide whether they should retreat from their court battles against the rapper, or move forward with the knowledge that the world could forever associate them with the violent moments they describe in their lawsuits."
