A recent ruling allows New York City's congestion pricing plan to remain effective for the time being, following a temporary restraining order from a judge. This decision comes just a day before the Trump administration's ultimatum to New York Governor Kathy Hochul, demanding the end of the pricing scheme or face the loss of federal funding for the MTA. The judge has also called for swift action on the briefing schedule and evidence production as the case develops.
A judge has ruled that congestion pricing can stay in place for now and order the federal government not to cut any MTA funding while a temporary restraining order is in place.
This comes one day away from the deadline that the Trump administration gave New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to shut down congestion pricing in New York City or risk losing federal funding.
