Carissa O'Donnell, reflecting on her journey from South Florida to Larkspur, Colorado, has cultivated a profound connection to natural environments. Pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Economics and Policy at Oregon State University laid the foundation for her engagement in environmental policy. She garnered experience in legislative advocacy through internships and student leadership, manifesting her desire to be an agent of change. Currently, as an MA candidate at Columbia Climate School, she further develops her focus on climate and society, actively contributing to the environmental policy landscape while preparing for future challenges.
I realized science was not my path. I started looking at programs that would harness my interest in policy, social communications and social systems.
Being in spaces where I can be an agent of change is something I love, which led me to the Oregon State Legislature and then to Washington, D.C.
