House Democrat Mocks Republicans for Seeking Their Help in Avoiding Shutdown: Put On Your Mandate Pants and Pass Whatever'
Briefly

Rep. Jim McGovern criticized Republicans for blaming Democrats for a potential government shutdown while they hold majorities in the House, Senate, and the White House. As the House prepares to vote on a continuing resolution, McGovern argues that it is absurd for Republicans to rely on Democratic votes to pass spending measures. He predicts that House Republicans will ultimately secure the needed votes without Democratic assistance, citing the fickleness of party members under pressure from leadership, exemplified by Rep. Victoria Spartz's change of stance on budget issues after direct pressure from former President Trump.
I think maybe you guys need to get a take a refresher course in arithmetic...you have the majority in the House and in the Senate. And you control the White House.
The idea that somehow Democrats have the responsibility to pass a CR or any bill, quite frankly, where we don't have any input on, I think is ridiculous.
I think you probably will have the votes because even the so-called principled conservatives who don't like CRs, I think they’re suffering from a case of Victoria Spartz syndrome.
