Heavy rainfall, coastal flooding expected in New York City

A flood watch has been put into effect for New York City through 1 a.m. Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a possibility of flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, with a total of 2 to 3 inches of rain expected by Thursday morning.
NYC Ferry announced early Wednesday the suspension of all services on the Rockaway Beach line due to the inclement weather.
Residents are encouraged to use mass transit where possible and to anticipate travel delays.
