Former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik dies

Bernard Kerik, the former NYPD Commissioner who played a significant role during the 9/11 attacks, has died at the age of 69 after a private illness. Recognized as a hero, Kerik was celebrated for his leadership during a critical time in New York City. He served as a bodyguard for Rudy Giuliani before becoming police commissioner. Despite facing criminal charges later in life, his contributions to NYC during and after 9/11 remain notable. But I'd give anything for that day not to have happened. I wish it hadn't. But it did. And I happened to be there at the time.
For nearly two decades, Kerik served and protected New Yorkers in the NYPD, including helping rebuild the city in the aftermath of 9/11.
