Mayor Eric Adams is set to announce massive investments in youth programs during his State of the City address Thursday, with a promise to allocate $163 million over five fiscal years to help underserved youth and those at risk of crime.
Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Anne Williams-Isom emphasized that, "Our most vulnerable young people have been our focus since the beginning of our administration, because the mayor believes in second chances, and that everyone deserves people around them who care."
Programs such as Fair Futures and College Choice will receive funding to provide critical support for at-risk youth, including one-on-one coaching, academic assistance, and college tuition support, thereby fostering opportunities and reducing crime.
