Fireworks, pounds of weed, cash stuffed in microwave - all found in Bronx stash house
Briefly

In a Bronx apartment, law enforcement discovered a stash house filled with illegal fireworks, hundreds of pounds of marijuana, and cash hidden in a microwave. Alongside the drugs, items disguised in festive packaging were intended for sale to children. The investigation, initiated in April, led to multiple arrests and highlighted safety concerns for the entire community. Authorities expressed fear about the risks presented by the hazardous materials. Efforts to mask the products included packaging typically associated with children’s items and games.
Law enforcement uncovered a stash house on the 11th floor of a South Bronx apartment. Inside, deputies discovered piles of illegal fireworks, hundreds of pounds of marijuana, and stacks of cash in a microwave.
The cash in the microwave? Talking about heating up some dough now," a neighbor said with a laugh.
The fireworks and weed were found stuffed in Fourth of July packaging and marketed to buyers, including children, according to Deputy Mayor of Public Safety Kaz Daughtry.
Independence Day packaging was not the only disguise: Prescription bags and bottles were also recovered, and that's not all. Daughtry said there were an array of board games like "Operation" and "Sorry" along with stuffed animals.
