Exclusive | CVS worker rips prosecutors after he's acquitted in fatal stabbing of serial shoplifter in Times Square
Briefly

Scotty Enoe, a CVS worker, was acquitted of manslaughter for the fatal stabbing of shoplifter Charles Brito. A jury concluded that Enoe acted in self-defense during an altercation, lasting just 20 minutes to reach their verdict. Enoe criticized prosecutors for their actions against those defending themselves. He referred to ongoing harassment by serial shoplifters, emphasizing the need for stronger responses. Enoe was convicted of a misdemeanor weapons charge due to possessing brass knuckles but may not face jail time. A juror expressed support for Enoe, affirming the jury's decision.
"People are on drugs and just harassing people and doing whatever they want, they get away with it, but the minute you stand up for yourself, the prosecutors want to put you in jail," an overjoyed Scotty Enoe, 48, told The Post after jurors took just 20 minutes to reach a not guilty verdict in the July 2023 death of Charles Brito.
"Something needs to be done, because these people harass people every day. Every single day they are harassing hard working people," Enoe added, referring to serial shoplifters.
Enoe had claimed to have acted in self defense to protect himself and his coworkers from a 'crazy' man who had just 'beat the s-t' out of him with his fists.
A juror said she believed the manslaughter acquittal was 'the right thing to do. I wish him all the best, he deserves to be found innocent and to live his life,' juror Adriana Corben, 33, physician, told The Post.
