Ex-NYC councilman indicted on child porn charges after arrest at Miami airport
Briefly

Daniel Halloran, a former New York City councilman with a prior conviction for bribery, has been indicted on child pornography charges following his arrest at Miami International Airport. While attempting to board a flight to New York after returning from Cuba, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered a hidden photo album on his cellphone containing numerous illicit videos. The charges indicate a significant volume of disturbing content, including at least 35 videos depicting sexual acts involving prepubescent children. Halloran's legal troubles continue to unfold as he faces serious new allegations.
During a secondary inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, officers allegedly found a hidden photo album on the 54-year-old's cellphone that contained the illicit material.
A CBP officer also found a text conversation on Telegram that indicated Halloran had purchased child pornography, the complaint said.
