Sean "Diddy" Combs's lawyer, Anthony Ricco, has filed a motion to withdraw from the hip-hop mogul’s criminal racketeering case, citing unspecified 'sufficient reasons' while maintaining attorney-client privilege. Despite his withdrawal, Ricco emphasized that it would not delay the trial set for May, pending judicial approval. Notably, Ricco has represented Diddy since September 2024 when Diddy was arrested on serious charges. Other lawyers, Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, will maintain their representation of Diddy, who has been active in civil court amidst ongoing legal challenges.
Anthony Ricco stated in his motion, "Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs."
Ricco's motion cited "sufficient reasons" for withdrawal, although he did not disclose details due to attorney-client privilege.
Despite Ricco's departure, he assured that his withdrawal would not affect the trial's May start, pending a judge's approval.
Diddy, who faces serious legal challenges, continues to be active in civil court after a rape lawsuit against him and Jay-Z was dismissed.
