Following clashes between pro-Palestinian demonstrators and counter-protesters outside Lubavitch World Headquarters, NYC Mayor Eric Adams emphasized that the NYPD is investigating reported assaults. He condemned the violence, stating that such actions are unacceptable and that New York City remains committed to being a venue for peaceful protests. Adams reaffirmed that hate will not be tolerated in the city, pledging accountability for those responsible for the unrest.
Hate has no place in our city, and those responsible will be held accountable.
None of this is acceptable, in fact, it is despicable. New York City will always be a place where people can peacefully protest, but we will not tolerate violence, trespassing, menacing, or threatening.
